Women’s Only Entertainment Film Festival (WOEFF) wants to acknowledge and celebrate the best of independent films, shorts, trailers, and webisodes and to specifically help independent filmmakers to raise their visibility through the web and that focus on women. We do so by providing online screenings allowing us to promote your film online and through social media.

 

International entries are accepted as long as: The payment is in US Dollars, The films are subtitled in English only, and all other rules, terms, and conditions are followed.

 

Rules & Terms

 

All films, shorts, webisodes, and trailers must have a female lead character and a female in one of the following roles; Director, Producer, DP, Cinematographer, Lighting, Sound, SFX, Writer.

 

1. To submit your film to the Festival, you must first upload your film or trailer to either Vimeo.com or YouTube.com. You must also be a member of FilmFreeway.com. We exclusively accept submissions through FilmFreeway.com.
 

2. By submitting to the Festival you confirm that you own the rights of the film and you agree to allow your project to be shown by the WOEFF, Women’s Only Entertainment Film Festival and on its site. Your name and information about your project may be used for promotion.
 

3. Judges will award the best films through private screenings. The judges will be signed up through our website via email with instructions. The number of judges is limited to ten (10). The judges will remain anonymous to all entries.
 

4. All films in the Official Selections will stream for 2 weeks on the http://woefilmfest.wix.com/2015 website, where audiences will be able to view the films. Films will not be able to be downloaded and will be securely streamed
 

5. Submissions in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.
 

6. Multiple entries are allowed. You can submit more than one film to the same category. But keep in mind the entry fee must be paid for each one.
 

7. The Festival is open to everyone over the age of 18 years of age.

 

8. Winners will be notified by October 31, 2015

 

9. We do require a JPEG photo for the labeling of the link (this can be a copy of the poster for it) and a short summary for those viewing and judging to know what the film’s theme, plot, and goal is.

 

10. The only genres accepted are listed here, all others will be rejected.

Awards & Prizes

 

There are numerous awards for each category, these may be subject to change at the festival directors discretion or by the number of submissions in a particular genre.

 

At this time we award certificates and laurels for all selections, and we award certificates and laurels for all winners. All films selected and all of the winners will be posted on our Facebook page, and also stay on our website as a history and reference.

 

GENERAL RULES

 

1. Dates and Venue
WOEFF is scheduling festivals to take place at the minimum of 4 times per year online. The ultimate goal would be to schedule 6 times per year.

 

2. Competition
Each submission must be entered separately. Entries will be assessed and successful submissions will be added to be screened. If we feel the film has been placed in the wrong genre, we reserve the right to adjust such findings and place it in the one we feel is best for it.

 

3. Formats
For the selection process acceptable formats: The films must be uploaded to Vimeo or Youtube and not be password protected in order to be judged. These links are what we will post on our website. When at all possible, we will post the video as well.

 

4. Selection & Notification
All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes. Official Festival selections will be announced on or around October 10, 2015. All entrants selected will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page. Selected films will also be posted on our website and trailers will be posted on our

Facebook page. The festival does not pay rental fees for submitted work.

 

5. Entry Returns
We do not accept DVD’s at this time so therefore we are unable to return submissions.

 

6. Screenings
By submitting you are giving WOEFF permission to post the video, link, and other info regarding the film on our website. However, you hold creative control and rights over the project. Each entry is required to have all permissions and rights to their entry to include content, score and all other parts of the film and be able to produce that if requested.

 

7. Publicity
We reserve the right to use extracts from submissions for festival publicity and marketing purposes. We prefer a photo or a photo of the poster in JPEG and a summary about the film and provide any warnings (such as, adult themes, nudity, language violence, etc...). Press kits are not required, but are useful, so please feel free to send these with your submissions. Each entry is required to include a 3 sentence log line to describe the film

 

8. Categories & Awards
There are four Categories.

Short Films (15 minutes to 74 minutes)
Feature Films (75 minutes to 120 minutes)
Webisode (must be less than 15 minutes)

Trailers (must be less than 3 minutes)

 

9. Submission, Selection for Screening, Awards.
There are 3 distinct stages. Submission, Screenings and Awards.

The judge’s choices in each category will be tallied and the total votes will be submitted to the administrator(s) who hold the final decision and make the announcement.

 

10. Miscellaneous

No x-rated material accepted or even considered.

No how-to, instructional, comedies, sports, fitness, music, student, animation, or experimental films and videos are NOT allowed.

No strong profanity. Mild language accepted.

No film can show women in a negative light.

 

Failure to follow these rules will reject your film from being admitted to the festival and you forfeit your entry fee.

No refunds of any entry fees will be awarded at any time for any reason.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

COMPETITION CERTIFICATION: I have read all of the Women’s Only Entertainment Film Festival Rules and Terms for Participation’. I understand them and will comply with these rules. I warrant the submission of my original work and there are no disputes regarding the ownership of the submission. I also warrant the submitted material does not defame or invade the rights of any person living or dead and I fully indemnify the Awards against any claim made for such violations of law. To the best of my knowledge, all of the statements herein are true and correct. I understand that failure to adhere to the Awards rules will result in disqualification and forfeiture of any entry fee. The Awards reserves the right to use a clip and/ or clips from accepted entries, up to three minutes in length, for publicity purposes. I agree to hold the Women’s Only Entertainment Film Festival and it’s organizers, administrators, and directors harmless from and defend them against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgements, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees and costs of the court) incurred or arising out of or in connection with any and all claims by third parties, whether or not groundless, based on any film submitted by myself  may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered to WOEFF. Once submitted I agree to the WOEFF showing my film if it wins at a time and date of the organizers choosing. By submitting my film, I am allowing it to stream online for the period of two (2) weeks to be showcased and screened for judging. I also hereby confirm that I have the full copyright for the film to be shown around the world on the internet and I own all the digital rights, or have permission from the rights holders to make this application. I agree that it does not violate any copyright laws. I understand that it is my duty to make the awards organizers aware of any changes to the rights from the point of submission onwards, until the final awards..
